The Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality has initiated a project to establish a ‘Child-Friendly Central Library’ in the Arsin district. The project involves a contract valued at approximately 17.6 million TL to renovate an existing structure into a modern facility.

Planned improvements include updating the building’s exterior, windows, and doors, as well as modernizing the interior with new flooring, lighting, and a kitchen area. The facility is designed to include specialized reading areas, play zones, and workshops for children. To ensure year-round functionality, the interior courtyard will be enclosed with sun-controlled tempered laminated glass. The project also includes the installation of accessible restrooms.

Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç described the initiative as an investment in the future, noting that early exposure to books and culture is vital for academic growth and personal development.
