Following a 4-0 victory over Galatasaray, Trabzonspor manager Thomas Reis addressed his rapid transition to the club, describing his arrival as a “turbulent week” after moving from Ludogorets to Trabzon within 24 hours. Due to minimal preparation time, Reis prioritized tactical discipline and player cooperation to manage a dense upcoming schedule involving domestic league fixtures and UEFA Europa Conference League matches.

Under Reis’s management, the team has secured three consecutive victories, including a 3-0 win over Samsunspor and a 4-2 away victory against KuPS Kuopio in the UEFA Conference League. During this period, the squad scored 11 goals while conceding only two. Reis has emphasized a collective approach, noting that while Mohamed Salah is a significant asset, he is not a “sole savior” and must contribute to defensive tasks. The coach aims to implement a style centered on defense, rapid ball recovery, and intensive work ethics.

As the season progresses, Reis is now aiming to become the first foreign coach in the club’s history to win his first three Süper Lig matches. To achieve this milestone, he is looking toward an upcoming eighth-week fixture against Beşiktaş. Additionally, the squad has seen a resurgence from players such as Benjamin Bouchouari, who has returned to form following injury struggles.

Regarding long-term planning, President Ertuğrul Doğan and Reis have met to evaluate squad requirements, specifically targeting a technical ‘number 8’ midfielder to strengthen the roster. The club aims to add at least one star player to increase depth as they compete across multiple domestic and European competitions.
