Brazilian artificial intelligence startup Tractian has achieved unicorn status following a US$ 130 million Series D funding round, reaching a valuation of US$ 1.4 billion. This milestone establishes the company as the most valuable AI startup in Latin America.

The funding round was led by Sapphire Ventures and M&G Catalyst, with participation from several other investors including General Catalyst, Bosch Ventures, Monashees, Endeavor Catalyst, Norte Ventures, and Y Combinator. 

Specializing in industrial sensors and ‘physical AI’, Tractian uses vibration and ultrasound sensors to monitor industrial machinery in real time. The company intends to use the new capital over the next five years to fund technological advancements, such as training large language models, developing new sensors, and purchasing Nvidia processors to scale its research and development.
