On September 6, at approximately 3:50 AM, a sleeper bus collided with a tractor-trailer on the Bãi Vọt-Hàm Nghi Expressway in Hà Tĩnh at Km 508+000 in the Toàn Lưu commune area. The crash left five people on the bus injured, primarily with traumas to their necks, arms, and legs. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and blocked the second lane, causing significant traffic congestion for North-South bound vehicles. Authorities diverted traffic through the junction of the expressway and Provincial Road 548 in Đồng Lộc commune to reach National Highway 1. While weather and road conditions were reported as clear, an investigation into the cause is underway.
