A 45-year-old Moldovan worker, identified as Ruslan Railean, was killed on Saturday, September 26, while performing maintenance on a railway bridge near the Navile district. The victim was working in a lane that had been closed to traffic and was reportedly properly marked with signage and LED screens. A 54-year-old Italian man from Modena, driving a Citroen Picasso, entered the construction area and struck Railean. Although the driver stopped to provide assistance, the worker died shortly after being transported to the Maggiore Hospital in Bologna. Following the accident, the driver underwent an alcohol test which revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 2.10 g/l, more than four times the legal limit.
