Following years of local government investment and institutional advocacy, a permanent fire department detachment in Trebisacce is being established to serve the Alto Ionio Cosentino area. The facility was fully funded by the municipality to address emergency response challenges posed by complex road networks and seasonal population surges.

The station was scheduled to open on October 24 with 32 personnel assigned by the Ministry of the Interior, including 8 squad leaders and 24 firefighters. As of late October, the station has entered a provisional operational phase, providing at least 12 hours of service per day. The transition to full 24-hour coverage is pending the arrival and effective presence of the complete staff assigned to the Cosenza provincial command.
