Musical tributes to the late Portuguese musician Jorge Palma have emerged following his death on September 21.

In Lisbon, the SOMA collective singing project, led by Diana Castro, scheduled a special event at the Reservatório da Mãe d’Água dedicated to Palma’s music. The event, which includes a charitable component benefiting Associação Casa Estrela do Mar, saw rapid ticket sales.

Simultaneously, the third season of the musical project ‘NOS Canta a Outro e Não ao Mesmo’ launched with a tribute to Palma. The season opener features a performance of ‘Estrela’ by Carminho, a recording made in July but released posthumously out of respect for his family. The project, hosted by Renato Duarte, features various artists reinterpreting songs across generations and will release episodes weekly on YouTube.
