The National Gas Company (NGC) has secured the title deed for the Beachfield gas-processing facility in Guayaguayare, resolving a long-standing land dispute. This acquisition facilitates the Manatee offshore gas development, a project led by Shell Trinidad involving the trans-border Loran-Manatee field shared with Venezuela. Production for the Manatee project is expected to begin in 2027. In a separate development, the NGC has agreed to purchase a 20% stake from BP in the Trinidad portion of the Cocuina-Manakin natural gas field. This cross-border field, which straddles the maritime boundary between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, contains an estimated 1 trillion cubic feet of reserves.
