The San Paolo Hippodrome in Montegiorgio is hosting a series of trotting races as part of its autumn season, serving as preparation for the XXXVIII Palio dei Comuni scheduled for November 29, 2026.

In mid-October, the racing program included qualifying trials for two-year-old foals and several international mile races, such as the Premio David Gilmour and the Premio Brian May. The schedule also noted the upcoming Gran Premio San Paolo Giovanni Mattii, set for October 31.

By late October, the event expanded to include themed racing days, such as a Disney-themed session on October 25 designed for families. These races serve as critical tests for horses, drivers, and stables to assess condition and tactics ahead of the final competition. The Palio dei Comuni, dedicated to Lanfranco Mattii, will feature twenty-four participating municipalities, including notable representatives from the province of Ancona such as Filottrano and Loreto.
