Turkey has implemented a tiered natural gas pricing system through BOTAŞ that affects residential users based on monthly consumption limits. 

Under this system, users are billed at a lower rate, Kademe-1, for consumption within a specific threshold. However, if a household exceeds its monthly limit, the entire volume of gas used for that month is billed at the higher Kademe-2 rate. The price difference between these tiers is approximately 70 percent, with Kademe-1 set at 10.62 lira per cubic meter and Kademe-2 at 18 lira.

Consumption limits are adjusted by province and month to account for local climate and historical data. For instance, limits in Istanbul for September are 29.23 cubic meters, while limits in Erzurum increase to 319.60 cubic meters during December.
