The 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) preference period in Turkey concluded on August 10, 2026, at 23:59. Approximately 2.4 million candidates submitted their university program choices via the ÖSYM Candidate Transaction System (AİS).

Following the close of the preference window, candidates are awaiting placement results. While ÖSYM has not issued an official announcement regarding the exact release date, expectations suggest results will be announced no later than August 23. This timeline aligns with the upcoming university registration schedule, which includes electronic registration (e-Kayıt) from August 24–26 and in-person registration from August 24–28, 2026.

In conjunction with the YKS cycle, other academic timelines are active: the 2026 DGS results were scheduled for release on August 13, and the ALES/2 results are set for announcement on August 21.
