Turkish and Northern Cyprus officials have utilized international forums to advocate for their respective positions on the Cyprus dispute. 

At an OSCE Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Andorra, Ali Öztunç of the Republican People's Party defended Turkey’s 1974 military intervention, arguing it prevented massacres against Turkish Cypriots. He criticized the South Cyprus administration’s negotiation sincerity, citing the rejection of the 2004 Annan Plan. 

Subsequently, at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Foreign Ministers Council in Baghdad, TRNC Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu advocated for a two-state solution, asserting that “the reality of Cyprus island is one island, two states.” He called for an end to the “unfair isolations and inhumane embargoes” against the Turkish Cypriot people, stating the current negotiation model is exhausted.
