Turkey is undertaking several major aviation infrastructure projects to expand its national capacity. At Istanbul Airport, a new 2,820-meter-long east-west runway is scheduled to begin service in mid-September to support future four-runway operations.

In Sivas, construction of a 3,780-meter runway at Nuri Demirağ Airport is underway, with completion expected by September 2027. In Malatya, the construction of a new airport terminal building has been completed, with operations slated to begin in early October.

Significant long-term projects are also moving forward in Trabzon. The Trabzon New Airport project, which involves sea reclamation to create a facility capable of handling 10 million passengers, has received environmental approval. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu confirmed that the foundation for this new facility will be laid soon to address the capacity limitations of the current airport.
