This expansion has created a high demand for skilled technical personnel and specialized human resources. To meet these needs, the educational sector is implementing applied vocational programs, such as the Aircraft Technology program at Gazi University’s TUSAŞ Kazan Vocational School, which integrates theoretical coursework with practical training at factory sites. According to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), students are receiving job offers from major defense and space technology companies prior to completing their degrees. Complementing these educational efforts, the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) is actively recruiting specialized staff. The SSB has announced the recruitment of 22 Defence Industry Assistant Experts, including 19 engineers across various disciplines—such as aerospace, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity—and three graduates in economics and business administration. The selection process involves an oral examination for candidates meeting specific academic and language proficiency requirements. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: Turkish government agencies announce major personnel recruitment Turkish institutions including the Gendarmerie, Defense Industries Presidency, and TMSF have announced various recruitment drives for officers, engineers, and specialists through October 2026. 16 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/presidency-of-defence-industries-to-recruit-22-experts ### 2026-09-14: Turkish aviation sector drives demand for technical graduates Turkey's growing defense and aviation sectors are driving demand for technical experts, with students in specialized vocational programs receiving job offers before graduation. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/turkish-aviation-sector-drives-demand-for-technical-graduates --- Cite as: Turkish defense and aviation sector workforce development.
