Organic tomato production in Turkey is experiencing growth, particularly through specialized farming methods and export activities. In Manisa, the ‘çeşni’ variety is being cultivated on 2,000 decares of land using animal manure instead of pesticides and minimal irrigation. 

In Elazığ, production scales have increased significantly. Initial reports indicated harvesting across 7,000 decares with expected yields between 15,000 and 20,000 tons. Subsequent reports from the Alatarla village show a large-scale harvest involving approximately 800 local and seasonal workers across 4,000 decares, with expected yields rising to 40,000 tons. 

Much of the Elazığ harvest is processed using traditional methods, where tomatoes are manually sliced, salted, and sun-dried for six days. These products are distributed domestically and exported to international markets, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
