Yeşilırmak Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ (YEDAŞ) has completed the conversion of 45,000 street lighting fixtures to LED technology across five Turkish provinces: Samsun, Ordu, Çorum, Amasya, and Sinop.

Operations Director Barış Demir stated that the transition has resulted in energy savings of up to 50% in the completed areas compared to traditional sodium vapor lamps. The modernization project aims to improve energy efficiency, enhance night visibility, and increase driving safety by providing more homogeneous lighting.

The company intends to continue the modernization process through 2030, targeting a 20% conversion rate of total fixtures this year, which is expected to yield approximately 50 million lira in monthly savings. YEDAŞ is also prioritizing LED technology for all new general lighting installations to improve durability against environmental conditions and reduce long-term maintenance and operational costs.
