The Turkish Tax Inspection Board (VDK), in coordination with the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), has initiated comprehensive compliance audits to combat tax evasion and the trade of fake documents. 

Investigations covering the period from 2018 to 2025 identified 8,566 violations, leading to proposed penalties of approximately 1.54 billion Turkish Lira. The VDK reported that these actions are based on concrete investigations rather than automated risk indicators. Furthermore, 32 individuals have been referred to the prosecutor’s office for failing to submit required documentation.
