The 2nd Traditional Turkish World Poets and Writers Meeting was held in Talas, Kayseri, featuring 33 poets and writers from 13 countries. Organized by the Talas Municipality alongside the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, TİKA, and the Turkish Literature Foundation, the event included cultural performances such as Mehter marches and theatrical displays of Dede Korkut.

Participants discussed the role of literature in strengthening bonds between Turkic states and maintaining national identity. Serhat Kabaklı, Chairman of the Turkish Literature Foundation, stated that literature is a “vital force that allows nations to endure.”

During the meeting, Azerbaijani poet Sabir Rustemkhanli addressed social media criticism regarding Azerbaijan’s implementation of unified school uniforms, characterizing such discourse as an attempt to “undermine the brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan and to weaken the Organization of Turkic States.”
