While several European destinations are confirmed for the winter season, some summer routes will be suspended. Despite a significant increase in passenger traffic—with over 500,000 passengers recorded in the first three quarters of 2026 compared to roughly 251,000 in 2025—the airport is facing a reduction in connectivity. Pegasus Airlines is scheduled to end its service between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Tuzla on October 23. Following the previous withdrawal of AJet from the same route, Wizz Air will be the sole scheduled airline serving the airport during the winter months. The airport’s growth has been supported by a subsidy program managed by the Tuzla Canton Tourist Board, including approximately 614,000 euros in funding for 2026. The Tuzla Canton government has reviewed an audit regarding the effectiveness of these subsidies and intends to adjust the subsidy model based on the findings. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-11: Pegasus Airlines to end Istanbul-Tuzla flight service Pegasus Airlines will discontinue flights between Istanbul and Tuzla after October 23, leaving Wizz Air as the only scheduled carrier at Tuzla Airport amid a period of high passenger growth. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/pegasus-airlines-to-end-istanbul-tuzla-flight-service ### 2026-10-10: Tuzla International Airport transitions to winter flight schedule Tuzla International Airport begins its winter flight schedule on October 25, featuring an expanded network via Wizz Air but with seasonal changes to specific European destinations. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/tuzla-international-airport-transitions-to-winter-flight-schedule --- Cite as: Tuzla International Airport flight connectivity changes.
