The U23 World Wrestling Championships are being held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, from October 12 to 18. The event includes approximately 600 international athletes competing in freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines.

Prior to the start of the tournament, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) reported visa complications for several of its athletes. While the 10-member men’s freestyle team received clearance, the WFI sought reconsideration from the US Embassy for four women wrestlers and five Greco-Roman wrestlers who were denied visas. The US Embassy reportedly cited the athletes’ ages and unemployment status as reasons for the denials.
