By October 2026, the university announced an investment of over 80 million pesos dedicated to sports infrastructure. This initial phase includes the construction of soccer fields, maintenance of running tracks, and lighting installations for the sports complex. A second phase involving the University Gymnasium is planned for the following year. In early October 2026, the university expanded its community and health-related initiatives. In collaboration with the Oaxaca Health Services (SSO), UABJO is launching the Oaxaca Companion Animal Registry (ROAC). This technological tool is designed to create a pet census to enhance public health strategies, manage epidemiological surveillance for diseases such as rabies, and address issues regarding animal abandonment and cruelty.
