# UBA Strategic Management Index for AMBA municipalities

The University of Buenos Aires (UBA) released the 2026 Strategic Management Index for Cities (IGEC), which evaluates 31 municipalities within the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA). 

Vicente López secured the top position for the second consecutive year, achieving a score of 3.78 out of 5. This represents an improvement from its 2025 rating of 3.39. The municipality led in four of the five assessed dimensions: political-institutional, society, technology and infrastructure, and economic development, where it shared the top spot with Tres de Febrero.

Other high-performing municipalities included Escobar, San Isidro, and San Miguel. The report noted significant disparities in urban management across the region, with Cañuelas and Presidente Perón recording some of the lowest scores.
