In early October 2026, UConn Athletics announced an expanded partnership with UConn Health. Starting with the 2026-27 season, the UConn Health logo will appear on the home and away uniforms for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. This marks the first time either program has utilized a jersey sponsor, with the deal described as “among the largest integrated sponsorships in program history.”

By late October, the university prepared for the season openers. The women’s team, led by head coach Geno Auriemma, was scheduled to play Cornell with a full roster available following preseason injuries. The men’s team, ranked No. 4, was set to host Gardner-Webb in Hartford under head coach Dan Hurley, following a 3-0 preseason run.
