The UConn women’s basketball team began its preseason exhibition schedule with a series of matchups. Following an initial 88-60 victory against Syracuse at Mohegan Sun Arena, the team secured an 83-61 win over the Texas Longhorns at PeoplesBank Arena.

Despite the victory against Texas, UConn coach Geno Auriemma noted concerns regarding the team’s performance, specifically citing “transition defense and poor three-point shooting” during the Syracuse game, where the team shot 3-for-23 from behind the arc.
