Unión Deportiva Almería has experienced a significant performance turnaround under the management of Javier García Pimienta. Early in the 2025-26 campaign, the team demonstrated defensive improvements, conceding only four goals in the first five matches, which was less than half the number of goals conceded during the same period the previous season.

As the season progressed, the club rose to the top of the league table, accumulating 21 points through nine matches. Pimienta has implemented a possession-based tactical style, utilizing formations such as 4-3-3 and 3-2-4-1 to increase attacking presence. The squad's play has been influenced by the Barcelona academy style, with players like Quim Junyent becoming key contributors to the team's tactical execution.
