Several national teams have failed to secure qualification for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Bulgaria's U21 team was eliminated from contention following a 0-1 defeat to the Czech Republic in Group B. The loss allowed the Czech Republic to secure second place in the group and advance to the play-offs. Bulgarian coach Todor Yanchev noted the team's lack of consistency despite previous successes.

Similarly, Romania's U21 team failed to qualify after a 0-2 loss to Finland in Group A. The defeat left Romania in third place, missing the second-place playoff spot. During the match, Romanian defender Andrei Dorobanțu sustained a serious shoulder injury, which is expected to sideline him for four to six weeks.
