Lithuania defeated Liechtenstein 2-0 in their UEFA Nations League League D opener at the Rheinpark Stadion in Vaduz. After a scoreless first half where Liechtenstein’s compact defense and goalkeeper Benjamin Büchel kept the match balanced, Lithuania broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute through Lukas Michelbrink.

Lithuania secured the victory in the 66th minute when Artūras Dolžnikov scored with a long-range shot into the top corner. Following the match, Lithuanian coach Edgaras Jankauskas noted that while the first half was “balanced and difficult,” his team’s strength emerged in the second half. Liechtenstein coach Konrad Fünfstück expressed pride in his team’s defensive effort despite the loss.

Lithuania is scheduled to face Azerbaijan in its next tournament match.
