The UK Media Excellence for Emerging Technology (UK MEET) Fellowship, supported by the British High Commission and Imperial College London, is training journalists in Ghana and Nigeria to report on science, technology, and innovation.

In Ghana, the program selected journalists to undergo training aimed at enhancing their ability to scrutinize scientific claims and translate complex developments, such as artificial intelligence and health technology, into accessible stories.

In Nigeria, the fellowship progressed through an intensive residential training phase in Abuja for 28 journalists and content creators. Ten selected fellows are scheduled for a London Knowledge Exchange visit to engage with researchers and experts on topics including digital health, climate change, and the implications of deepfakes and election technology.
