National Highways has announced various planned maintenance works and closures across several major motorways in England.

In late September, maintenance was scheduled for the M3 and M27 in Hampshire. These works included a northbound exit slip road closure at M3 Junction 13 and a westbound entry slip road closure at M27 Junction 2. Additionally, a long-term project to reconstruct the M3 Junction 9 entry slip road is expected to continue until November 2027.

By early October, the scope of planned closures expanded to include the M5 motorway. Scheduled works included nighttime northbound carriageway closures on the M3 between Junctions 10 and 7, and a link road closure on the M27 between Junction 12 and the M275 for Portsmouth City Council works. On the M5, electrical works were planned for the northbound entry slip road at Junction 19, alongside a southbound carriageway closure at Junction 21.
