In September 2026, Finland and Ukraine signed a defense agreement at the United Nations headquarters focused on the joint production of drones and other defense equipment. This pact facilitates technology transfer and industrial joint ventures, with Finnish President Alexander Stubb noting that approximately 90 percent of drones manufactured under this cooperation are expected to be sent to Ukraine. By October 2026, security cooperation expanded to include Israel. Reports indicate that Israel and Ukraine are collaborating on the technical investigation of Russian and Iranian weaponry. This includes the analysis of Russian Geran-family attack drones, which are based on Iranian Shahed technology. The research aims to assist in the development of defense systems against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). ## Timeline ### 2026-10-15: Israel and Ukraine collaborate on analyzing Russian and Iranian weaponry Israel and Ukraine are cooperating to analyze Russian and Iranian weaponry, specifically focusing on Geran and Shahed-style drones to improve defense technologies. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/israel-and-ukraine-collaborate-on-analyzing-russian-and-iranian-weaponry ### 2026-09-23: Finland and Ukraine sign defense agreement for drone production Finland and Ukraine signed a defense agreement in New York to collaborate on drone production, technology transfers, and joint research to strengthen both nations' defense industries. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/finland-and-ukraine-sign-defense-agreement-for-drone-production --- Cite as: Ukraine international defense cooperation.
