Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized the strengthening of bilateral relations and military cooperation with Poland. In early October, Zelenskyy met with European Union ambassadors in Kyiv, where Polish diplomatic representatives noted his specific recognition of Polish aid. This assistance is described as critical for protecting Ukrainian cities, such as Kyiv, from Russian jet-powered drones.

By mid-October, Zelenskyy further praised the improving alliance between Ukraine and Poland, stating that a robust partnership is a “source of concern for Russia.” This diplomatic warming follows previous tensions regarding historical military unit naming. Zelenskyy also noted a successful meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Brussels, signaling a return to cooperative logistical patterns, including the use of the Rzeszów airport for international travel.
