Austrian authorities arrested four Ukrainians in Vienna on suspicion of espionage, including investigative journalist Mykhailo Tkach and cameraman Yaroslav Bondarenko. The individuals were reportedly conducting research regarding fugitive former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

While Tkach was released following his detention, the Vienna prosecution continued its investigation into the group. During the arrests, Bondarenko reportedly required medical attention for injuries sustained. The Association of European Journalists has called for an independent investigation into the circumstances of the arrests and the use of force against the journalists. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and Embassy have engaged with Austrian officials to seek clarification on the legal basis for the detentions.
