Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. has entered into agreements to sell priority review vouchers (PRVs) earned through FDA approvals of gene therapies for rare pediatric diseases.

Initially, the company agreed to sell a single voucher for US$210 million, which was awarded following the accelerated approval of Genglycos for glycogen storage disease type Ia. 

Subsequently, Ultragenyx expanded these efforts, securing agreements to sell two vouchers for a combined total of approximately $413 million. This includes the original $210 million voucher and a second voucher valued at $203 million, which was awarded following the mid-September approval of Fayuvi for Sanfilippo syndrome Type A. The company intends to use the non-dilutive capital from these sales to support its drug pipeline and path toward profitability.
