An investigation is underway following a fatal ultralight aircraft crash in the Fuscaldo mountains of Calabria. The aircraft, a Tecnam P2008, disappeared while traveling from Capo d'Orlando to Sibari. 

Two passengers, lawyers Carlo Arnulfo, 64, and Angela Buccico, 55, were killed in the accident. The wreckage was located in a heavily vegetated area in the Laghicello region and had been consumed by fire. Air Force rescuers utilized a winch to descend 45 meters through debris to reach the site.

Prosecutor Domenico Fiordalisi has opened an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities are examining several factors, including sudden fog or mechanical failure, while forensic experts and Air Force specialists work to reconstruct the flight dynamics and investigate why safety systems or parachutes were not deployed.
