A mechanic in Trieste, Italy, is facing criminal proceedings following allegations of unauthorized vehicle use. A client, a lawyer from Cervignano del Friuli, discovered the misuse after being issued approximately 7,000 euros in traffic fines while their Audi was at the workshop for repairs.

Investigations revealed that the mechanic used the vehicle for personal trips and returned it to the shop at night. The owner was able to identify the unauthorized use by locating the vehicle parked at the mechanic’s residence via Google Street View. Furthermore, it was discovered that the mechanic operated the vehicle despite having a suspended driver’s license and while the car was under an administrative seizure order.

A court hearing is expected to take place in the coming month.
