Authorities in Romania have investigated multiple discoveries of unidentified object fragments, suspected to be from drones, on agricultural land. In late September, fragments were found near Gropeni in the Brăila region following reports of a falling object and a fire; however, the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) reported no unauthorized airspace penetrations via radar at that time.

On October 21, a farmer discovered suspected drone debris in a field near Moșești village, Robeasca commune, in Buzău county. The fragments include engine components, fuselage pieces, and propeller elements. Specialists from the MApN and the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) are conducting technical examinations to determine the origin of the objects. Preliminary indications suggest the drone may have crashed several days prior to discovery and was not detected by military radar.

This incident follows a previous discovery in July where drone components were located in the Buzău and Brăila regions. In response to regional security tensions, the Supreme Council of National Defence (CSAT) has been convened to discuss security implications in the Black Sea area and measures to protect critical maritime infrastructure. These incidents occur amid broader concerns regarding Romanian airspace security, with Ministry of Defense figures indicating 35 airspace violations and the downing of six drones throughout the year. Romania has committed approximately two billion euros to acquire Israeli SPYDER anti-drone systems, with deliveries expected to begin by 2029.
