Universidad de Chile has undergone several roster and tactical shifts. Following the sale of midfielder Lucas Assadi to Sweden’s AIK, the club experienced consecutive defeats and faced difficulties in replacing his talent. During this period, management also blocked a potential loan move for forward Juan Martín Lucero to Independiente after refusing to subsidize his wages.

More recently, the club has seen the return of 18-year-old midfielder Elías Rojas to training following meniscus surgery. Despite this, analysts have expressed concerns regarding the team’s tactical stability under manager Fernando Gago, noting a lack of a definitive starting eleven and frequent rotation in the forward line as the team prepares for the Copa Chile quarterfinals.
