The University of Granada (UGR) has engaged in various administrative and ceremonial activities involving its territories. In early September, the university’s Melilla campus reported that eight degree programs, including Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, had no waiting lists for the upcoming academic cycle.

By October, the UGR Governing Council announced it would award its Gold Medal—the institution’s highest honor—to the cities of Granada, Ceuta, and Melilla. Rector Pedro Mercado noted the award recognizes a “shared history of nearly five centuries” and the reciprocal relationship between the university and these three territories ahead of the institution’s V Centenary.
