In Luján, Argentina, authorities are working with the Electric Cooperative and Telecom to dismantle decommissioned infrastructure in the city center, specifically targeting unused telephone lines and old lighting between Colón and 9 de Julio streets. 

In Viña del Mar, Chile, the municipality is implementing a plan under the ‘Chao cables’ law to organize aerial space. The telecommunications company GTD has removed approximately 13,000 linear meters of unused cables. Mayor Macarena Ripamonti noted that the initiative aims to improve the city’s image and reduce hazards to residents during severe weather conditions.
