Municipalities in the Balkan region are implementing various projects to increase urban parking capacity and manage traffic congestion.

In Štip, a new three-level parking garage near the ‘Promaja’ building on Boris Kidrič Street has been completed. The facility, which provides over 40 spaces, was funded with more than 20 million denars from the municipal budget. Local authorities plan to continue infrastructure improvements, including a multi-level garage near the municipal administration building.

In Podgorica, construction has started on a temporary 70-space parking lot near the Baston building. Mayor Saša Mujović noted that parking will be free until the end of the year before transitioning to a zone-based system. Meanwhile, in Split, the Ravne njive garage has opened, offering 509 spaces including provisions for electric vehicles and persons with disabilities. This opening is part of a larger municipal goal to add approximately 6,000 new parking spaces through various projects.
