Boeing and RTX (Raytheon) have secured significant U.S. defense contracts aimed at enhancing maritime patrol and ballistic missile defense capabilities.

Boeing entered into a $32.3 million agreement to integrate Advanced Survivability Pods (ASP) onto P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, a project involving the Australian Department of Defence. The ASP is intended to disrupt enemy radar and deceive missiles using electronic signals.

Simultaneously, RTX subsidiary Raytheon secured a $745 million contract with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency for the production and maintenance of SM-3 Block IIA interceptor missiles. These interceptors, which utilize kinetic destruction vehicles to strike targets outside Earth’s atmosphere, are intended to protect aircraft carrier groups, advanced bases, and allied territories. Boeing has also entered into framework agreements to increase the production of critical hardware, such as avionics and ejector assemblies, to support both Block IB and Block IIA variants.
