David Milstein, a senior advisor to US Ambassador Mike Huckabee in Israel, has been accused of systematically suppressing and manipulating diplomatic reports to favor the Israeli government. 

Investigations suggest Milstein blocked or altered sensitive assessments to shield Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration from Washington’s scrutiny. Specific allegations include quashing reports regarding West Bank settlement expansions that risked violating US policy, and rewriting assessments to downplay the potential for Palestinian uprisings or settler violence. 

Additionally, Milstein reportedly suppressed a detailed embassy inquiry into the deaths of nine Palestinian Americans by Israeli forces and settlers. Rather than forwarding findings that indicated Israeli investigations into these deaths had yielded no charges, Milstein allegedly pushed for communications that assured lawmakers the cases were being handled properly. 

While Ambassador Huckabee has expressed “absolute confidence in his integrity,” officials claim these actions have paralyzed diplomatic communication and hindered Congressional oversight.
