A series of weather alerts has been issued across several US states due to significant temperature drops. Initially, frost advisories and freeze warnings were issued for parts of Washington and Oregon, with temperatures in Washington expected to reach between 33 and 36 degrees Fahrenheit and Bend, Oregon, potentially seeing lows of 30 degrees.

Following these alerts, freeze warnings expanded to include parts of Wyoming and Idaho. In Wyoming’s Bighorn Basin, temperatures were forecasted to drop as low as 27 degrees Fahrenheit, posing risks to crops, vegetation, and outdoor plumbing. Idaho also faced forecasted lows near 29 degrees Fahrenheit.

More recently, the National Weather Service in Portland issued frost advisories for northwest Oregon and southwest Washington for Thursday and Friday nights. A freeze watch was also established for the Willamette Valley and surrounding foothills for Friday night. Temperatures in these areas are expected to drop between 31 and 36 degrees, creating risks to sensitive outdoor vegetation, crops, and unprotected outdoor plumbing. Affected locations include the Tualatin Valley, the Oregon Coast Range, and Washington lowlands such as Cowlitz and North Clark counties, including cities like Hillsboro, Sherwood, Tigard, Longview, and Salem.
