In the Vallo di Diano region, recent events have highlighted different aspects of safety and regional management. The deaths of two workers, Antonio Simone and Pietro Pellegrino, led to calls for increased political action and improved workplace safety standards. Local organizations described the deaths as a “political and civil defeat” and advocated for a culture of safety that prioritizes human dignity and emotional awareness in risk prevention.

Parallel to these concerns, regional authorities are addressing environmental and economic safety through infrastructure and tourism initiatives. The Vallo di Diano and Tanagro Reclamation Consortium has commenced maintenance on the Zia Francesca stream in Sassano to mitigate hydraulic risks and prevent flooding. Additionally, local municipalities and foundations have entered agreements to promote cultural tourism through the ‘Visit Vallo di Diano’ brand to bolster regional development.
