The Vancouver Canucks experienced a significant period of poor performance, extending a winless streak to nine consecutive games following a 5-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. During that match, the team faced an offensive drought lasting over 39 minutes. Player Brock Boeser characterized the team’s performance as “embarrassing,” citing a disconnect in structure and coaching instructions.

The team subsequently ended a 10-game winless skid with a 6-5 overtime victory against the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center. After trailing 5-2 late in the third period, Vancouver mounted a comeback with goals from Jamie Oleksiak, Jonathan Lekkerimaki (two goals), Liam Öhgren, and Brock Boeser. Elias Pettersson and Boeser each contributed two assists, while Leevi Merilainen earned the win in goal with 18 saves. Filip Hronek secured the victory by scoring a power-play goal with only 11 seconds remaining in overtime.
