The Vancouver Rise attempted to secure a post-season berth in the Northern Soccer League (NSL) by strengthening their roster. The club signed Jamaican international Chantelle Swaby and Kaela Hansen to bolster the lineup following the retirement of Mariah Lee and the loan of goalkeeper Kirstin Tynan.

Despite these additions, the Rise failed to qualify for the playoffs. A 1-0 defeat against the Halifax Tides, decided by a late goal from Julia Benati, left Vancouver one point behind the Tides. The victory allowed Halifax to claim the fourth and final playoff spot.
