A mural dedicated to former AC Milan captain Franco Baresi, located in Piazza Gino Valle near the club’s headquarters, has been vandalized for a second time in less than a month. On the evening of September 27, the original artwork by artist Luca Rosada (known as Lucas Street Art) was defaced with spray paint. The act drew widespread condemnation, including from former Inter Milan goalkeeper Walter Zenga, who stated the defacement “offends not only AC Milan and its supporters but also the history of Italian football and the concept of respect.”

In response, Rosada unveiled a new three-meter-tall mural made from recycled paper on October 10. This version depicted Baresi celebrating a goal against Padova in 1995 and incorporated six values representing the spirit of Milan. Rosada noted he viewed the initial vandalism as the end of the previous work’s life and chose to respond with a smile.

However, the new tribute was targeted again in late October with black paint. The vandals specifically defaced iconic elements, including the captain’s armband, the AC Milan crest, and the Champions League trophy. Following this second attack, Rosada expressed his intention to repair the work again, stating he would not give up out of respect for Baresi. Local fans and officials have expressed outrage over the repeated insults to the former captain’s memory.
