The club has been involved in both player development and transfer market activity. Midfielder Marlon Gomes, a former player who transferred to Shakhtar Donetsk in 2024, has discussed his professional ambitions to reach major European leagues and his continued connection to his former club.

Vasco da Gama has been actively pursuing 19-year-old Goiás Esporte Clube midfielder Lucas Rodrigues, a member of the Brazilian U-20 national team. Club executives have been monitoring the player for several months, with negotiations having been ongoing for over a month as of November 2026. Vasco aims to include Rodrigues in their 2027 squad. While the player and his representatives have reportedly shown interest in the move, a valuation gap exists: Goiás has reportedly set a minimum asking price of 7 million euros, whereas Vasco has signaled interest in the range of 3.5 million euros. Rodrigues is under contract with Goiás until December 2029.

As of early November 2026, Vasco officials have expressed optimism regarding the transfer. Rodrigues has recorded six goals and one assist in 33 matches during the 2026 season while playing in Série B. Despite facing financial challenges and cash flow issues, Goiás management maintains they will not accept low offers, leaving the transfer dependent on a final financial agreement.

Additionally, the club remains reportedly interested in Grêmio striker Carlos Vinícius, who is currently playing out the final months of his contract.
