The Vasco da Gama club is highlighting various historical narratives through new media and museum exhibitions in Brazil.

A docudrama directed by Jefferson Mello, chronicling the history of the ‘Camisas Negras’—a working-class team composed largely of Black players—is scheduled for a national theatrical release on November 19. The film focuses on the team’s 1923 Campeonato Carioca victory and the ‘Historical Response’ of 1924.

Additionally, the Vasco da Gama Museum at São Januário Stadium has inaugurated an exhibition titled “Mulheres no Vasco: A construção da grandeza vascaína a partir do protagonismo feminino”. This exhibit honors the roles of women as athletes, supporters, members, and directors, aiming to provide visibility to their contributions and the historical challenges they faced within the sport.
