Vasco da Gama is working to secure the permanent transfer of defender Robert Renan, who is currently on loan from Zenit Saint Petersburg. The 23-year-old has become a regular starter for the club, accumulating significant appearances during his tenure.

Renan has expressed a personal affinity for the club, stating in an interview that he wished he could have been a ‘Cria da Colina’ (a product of Vasco's youth academy) due to his family's long-standing support for the team.

To retain the player, Vasco must exercise an 8 million euro purchase option by November. The club has communicated its intention to proceed with the negotiation despite interest from clubs in England and Portugal. This move is part of a broader investment plan involving Almirante Participações S/A, the company led by Marcos Lamacchia that is set to take over the club's SAF.
